University Talk: Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Opportunities, Risks, & Ethical Use for Education and Self-Growth

Pekanbaru, October 1, 2025 – The Academic Support Unit for Career and Entrepreneurship Development (UPA PKK) of Universitas Riau, in collaboration with EduforAll, successfully held a University Talk titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Opportunities, Risks, & Ethical Use for Education and Self-Growth.”

The event, held at the Integrated Classroom (Teater Pakning), Universitas Riau, featured speaker Livia Octaviani Jufri, S.S., M.A., a YSEALI AI Future Makers alumna and Founder of EduforAll. In her presentation, Livia emphasized the importance of understanding the vast potential of artificial intelligence (AI), along with the challenges and risks that must be anticipated, particularly regarding its ethical use in education and personal development.

The program received high enthusiasm from the attending students. In addition to the main session, participants also had the opportunity to join a follow-up workshop, network with professionals, and receive e-certificates. Refreshments were also provided to ensure participants’ comfort throughout the event.

In her opening remarks, the Head of UPA PKK Universitas Riau, Mrs. Julita, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A., stressed that understanding AI technology is crucial to be learned early, considering its broad impact on various sectors of life. “Through this event, we hope students can utilize AI wisely, creatively, and innovatively, so it can support not only academic achievement but also personal growth,” she stated.

By organizing this University Talk, UPA PKK Universitas Riau once again reaffirmed its commitment to delivering programs relevant to current developments, while equipping students and alumni to face the challenges of the digital era with integrity.
