To become a center for superior, adaptive and globally competitive career and entrepreneurship development based on ASRI Culture, to support the creation of graduates from the University of Riau who are professional, independent and contribute to the nation and international community.
MISSION
The mission of Career Development and Entrepreneurship at the University of Riau is as follows:
1. Organizing integrated career development services with faculties through Career-Hub, including tracer studies, career counseling, soft skills training, and job recruitment.
2. Increasing student entrepreneurial competence through business incubation programs, start-up mentoring, and collaboration with local, national and global entrepreneurial ecosystems.
3. Develop employability skills based on ASRI Culture (Trustworthy, Polite, Responsive, Innovative) so that graduates have ethical, adaptive and solution characters in the world of work and business.
4. Building strategic networks with the business world, industry, alumni, government and international partners to expand student access to careers and entrepreneurship.
5. Integrate career education into the curriculum through Career Development courses, self-development programs, and student activities based on increasing Self-Value.
The Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (P2K2) of Universitas Riau was officially established through Rector’s Decree No. 4757/PT22.H/Q/1995 dated November 28, 1995, as an expansion of the Employment Service Center (PJK), which had been founded in 1990. P2K2 carries the primary task and function of preparing students and alumni to be ready and competitive in entering the workforce (career field) and/or business sector (entrepreneurship field). Its tasks and functions in the career field are to prepare students and alumni for the world of work through programs that enhance their competencies, skills, and soft skills, enabling them to achieve high competitiveness in obtaining employment. The main task and function of P2K2 in career development is to equip students and alumni with the readiness to compete in the job market. Based on the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures of Universitas Riau (2015), the Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (P2K2) became part of the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LPPMP) at Universitas Riau. The organizational structure of P2K2 has also been stipulated in Universitas Riau Statute No. 81 of 2017 and the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures of Universitas Riau No. 54 of 2017. In 2025, based on the Regulation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 16 of 2025 on the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures of Universitas Riau, P2K2 was transformed into the Academic Supporting Unit (UPA) for Career and Entrepreneurship Development. In carrying out its duties, the UPA PKK is accountable to the Rector and coordinated by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni. The Academic Supporting Unit for Career and Entrepreneurship Development is tasked with implementing programs for student career and entrepreneurship development.
